GNS 430 Awarded Flying Magazine's
"Editor's Choice Award"
GARMIN recently became the recipient of the prestigious Editor's Choice Award for product development from Flying magazine, an internationally recognized aviation authority and the most widely read magazine in the industry.
Flying presented GARMIN with the award for the GNS 430the GPS / ILS / COM with a color moving map. This citation was given to GARMIN by the magazine's editors after they reviewed aviation events and developments for the year in a search for outstanding achievements.
To quote the magazine's Volume 126, Number 2 edition: "The history of avionics innovation has been one of adding more and more boxes as new technology developed. But GARMIN changed all of that with its new GNS 430. Instead of cramming yet another piece of avionics into a panel, the GNS 430 contains an IFR-approved GPS navigator, a full-capability comm radio and a VOR/ILS receiver in a single panel-mounted unit about the same size as a conventional navcom."
Flying also noted that, "being first with new technology is becoming a habit at GARMIN."
